Kiteboarding Bali Lessons

Kiteboarding Bali is the only full service kiteboarding school in Bali, offering both lessons, rental gear, repair services and retail gear. Essentially the client can try before purchasing as we retail what we instruct on Globerider and BestKiteboarding equipment.

We are dedicated to make kiteboarding lessons a safer one for the beginner, make the learning level as fun as possible and instruct the student in such a way that he or she can get on the water as quickly and as safely as possible.

Located on the island of Bali, Kiteboarding Bali has the perfect location for any kiteboarding lesson to learn and grow safely with only the best International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) certified instructors.

Kiteboarding Bali believes in teaching on a one-on-one basis, helping the student get the most out of their kite boarding lesson.

We employ an instructional program certified by the IKO taught by our IKO qualified instructors. This program is sectioned into different skill levels that can be achieved by students during their learning process.

After the lessons, students are evaluated and certified with a IKO Kiteboarder Card which shows their level. By presenting this card (similar to a PADI card for SCUBA diving) to any IKO center worldwide, the student can continue their training, rent equipment suited to their level, and receive discounts on goods and services. We have beginner lessons, intermediate lessons and advanced lessons. So if you have no kiteboarding experience or if you just want to improve your riding skills, Kiteboarding Bali has the safe and fun environment that you've been looking for!

Ground school introduction to kiteboarding

Kiteboarding is most quickly mastered by breaking down the learning process. Learning to fly the kite properly and safely before entering the water will dramatically improve your learning curve.

This kiteboarding lesson on the beach covers rigging, tuning, line management, kite safety, rider responsibility, and flying techniques. By completing this 1,5 hour course, the student will be able to safely launch, land and operate a kiteboarding kite on land.

Beginner kiteboarding lesson

Absolutely essential for anyone thinking about getting into the sport. All students start with a small training kite until they learn the mechanics of the steering, and have a good understanding of the “Wind Window”.

You will learn basic flying skills, rigging and set up of the kite, safety techniques and theory. Practice flying in and out of the power zone, launching and landing and simulated water starts will prepare you for the next step.

From there we jump right into the water where we will have several fun and helpful exercises like: body dragging, upwind bodydragging / water relaunching /self rescue procedure, to get you comfortable flying a bigger kite and enjoy the power in a safe way.

At the end of this 2 hours course we will evaluate your level and you will be certified with the IKO kiteboarder card.

Intermediate kiteboarding lesson

This water bound program gives you your first adrenalin rush as you progress from beach starts right through to water starts.

By the end of this course you will get up on the board for your first ride!

During the course you will improve kite piloting with power, one hand kite piloting, body dragging unhooked and hooked to your harness and practice the water start.
Body positioning, board recovery & control, water starting, kite control on water, body dragging, harness technique are all being learned in this course.

At the end of this 2 hours course we will evaluate your level and you will be certified with the IKO kiteboarder card.

Custom kiteboarding lesson

This course doesn’t follow a standard program. If you are interested in following this program you need to know the basic skills such as board control, water starting and staying upwind.

You tell us what you want to learn and your instructor will guide you to your goals!

At the end of this 2 hours course we will evaluate your level and you will be certified with the IKO kiteboarder card. (click here for more information concerning this card)

Notes:

Kiteboarding Bali provides kites, boards, wetsuit, harness, helmets and lifejackets. Booties are highly recommended, they are available for purchase if required.

Bring your own sunglasses, sunscreen t-shirt/rash guard and lunch.

Courses are given at different locations with shallow warm water, depending on the tides, wind conditions and the riders abilities.

Our instructors speak English, Dutch, German, French and Indonesian.
